Up to 70 percent of passengers on long-range flights are male. The new sanitary compartment with extra small floor space makes allowances for this by using urinals. The resulting reduction in weight means fuel cost savings for the airline, including reduced C02 emissions.

Crystal Cabin Award DASELL wins the Crystal Cabin Award in the category industrial design / interior concept for its washroom with urinals at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2008.

Extra room for seats
The new sanitary compartment provides space for up to four additional seats on a Boeing B747-400, for example. More window seats are made possible.
