Hamburg, December 2003
DASELL Cabin Interior GmbH has made delivery of its 10,000th Airbus lavatory.
The company located in Hamburg-Finkenwerder, Germany, is a joint venture of
Britax-Sell and Airbus and supplies lavatories to the aircraft manufacturer
in Hamburg and Toulouse for the entire family of Airbus models. The
10,000th unit is destined for an Airbus A340-600 owned by
South African Airways. It is an "increased lavatory" designed for use in business class
and is distinguished in particular by an increase floor space for
passengers, an exterior window with blinds integrated into the back wall
and a padded baby changing table. A new lavatory type has just been
developed and is increasingly in demand by the airlines for use in
long-range aircraft. Unlike earlier, the customer participates to a high
degree in determined the design, which has enabled DASELL to acquire
customer-oriented know-how in both design and manufacturing.
